Is there a big tank for xr250l

Anyone know of a large petrol tank for Honda XR 250 L. This is the Australian model that is electric start and was originally made for the Japanese home market. I would prefer to deal with companies in Australia or their agents rather than get into international shipping.Any help greatly appreciated. It is a 2004 model.

I'm not sure, but I think the 5.2 gal Acerbis tank for the XR650L will fit it. If you look at one of those tanks, you'll see molded into the plastic several different locations where it can be bolted down, with different model names next to the holes.

Thing is, Honda sells so many variations of the XR that it's hard for me to tell exactly which model this is. The American XR250L shared many parts with the 650L, but in Asia I know they sell the Xr250 Baja, a street legal XR250 which is very dissimilar to the 650L. Does yours have the big dual headlights or a single headlight?

I fitted a 22 litre Acerbis tank to my XR400R. The markings on the front of the tank suggest this also fits both XR600R's and XR250R's. I assume it fits a XR250L but ask acerbis.

It's a good tank, but it does mean you need to take it off completely when checking the valve clearences on the XR400R and getting to the spark plug becomes a bit of a fiddle.

Happy travels
Richard.
