High Screen for a Dommie..
I'm looking for a high screen, any recommendations??
Cheers, Dave |
Hey Dave.
M&P is one option. They do a flip screen, but may have to order one for you (I was on the same case a while back but lost interest/energy/time). Plenty of people have recommended that I 'adapt' one to fit my '96 Dommie (which was manufactured screen-less)... the results may prove to be a little too unique/'special'. Not sure, but would a Transalp screen fit? |
I have a 2000 dommie. Tried in vain to get a screen. Givi used to make one but it is now discontinued. M&P couldn't locate one for me. I belive getting screens for the earlier model dommies is easier.

I made a screen for my 2000 Dommie from a sheet of Perspex, it bend easily when heated. Made mine about 14 inches high, it isn't perfect, but helps.

A scout round the web shows a screen to fit '96 to '01 Dommies. The company are in the Antipodes at http://www.bikescreens.com/
Might be worth an email to see if the yare prepared to ship to the UK....... |
I,ve tried a few options and the best one I have come up with that works very well is go to a wrekers and buy a screen off a sports bike if you turn it the opposite way up to how it fits in a sports bike fairing it should curve nicely around you bikes little headlight cowling (take your dommie with you to measure it up) drill two holes (place tape over the where you are going to drill to stop it cracking and bolt it on!!! Simple and they are very tough. I just went for the highest screen yet that sends the wind above the visor point of my helmet and can't belive how quiet and relaxing 100 kph is now good luck
