Dommie Rear Wheel Travel
Hi - I have a 1989 Dommie, and I want to increase the rear ride height and suspension travel. I think I have two options. For info, I am having either a new shock or my current one reconditioned anyway.
1) Get the shock modified to make it slightly longer, and make up a preload washer so that the spring rate is the same. 2) Get someone to machine a different suspension linkage to make the rear sit higher. It would alter the rising rate of the shock slightly, making it firmer (I think?) Option 2 is what is done to lower the ride height on XRLs, so I see no reason it wouldn't work the other way. I think I know a michine shop that will make me a new linkage to my spec from billet ally. What are the pros and cons of each approach? Ta! |
