CRF 250 Rally 12V power supply.
 

I want to add a cigarette style 12v power socket to the CRF. Rather than faffing about sourcing or swapping out the accessory plug under the left side fairing; is there any reason NOT to connect it directly to the battery? It has a fuse and wouldn't be drawing power unless something was plugged in to the cigarette lighter socket itself. No doubt I am being dumb, but at the back of my mind , I feel like I'm missing something obvious.
