Blown XR400

Currently in Spain with a sick XR400. (See pics). What worries me is where the bits have gone. I suspect the alluminium will crush and get caught in the filter but what about the ring that's dropped in? Is there an open gap between the crank case and gearbox? If I turn her upside down and wash it out will that do?
New bits can be here in a few days.

Hi Ben

Seeing that you have received no replies in the last 7 hours, I recon forums like https://thumpertalk.com/forums/ and Thumpers | Adventure Rider will offer up more expertise and advice than here.

As far as local contacts go, try contacting HUBB user choutos He and his wife live in San Roque and are great people.

Good luck!

Chris

Here I am!

Hey Chris! how are you doing? I hope you are fully recovered.

Ben, as I told you I am not living in San Roque anymore (moved to Austria), but still have some friends there and I can put you in contact with them. They will help you out, no doubt.

If you need a good workshop I can also pointing you to it, do you need me to contact them in advance?

If I understood you correctly, you need to go to Santader (taking a ferry from there?). I think the easiest way (and cheapest) to go there from San Roque is using blablacar.com. Other option is train to Madrid and from Madrid another one to Santander, but I guess is way more expensive and slower.

Hi Vitor
Good to hear from you and that you're able to offer Ben assistance. I'm improving.

Best wishes to Austria!
