balancing wheels

Im planning to head down Maroc with road tyres and then dump them for TKC80's when Im way south... What about balancing the wheels? My rear tyre is not balanced at the moment and do not really notice a big difference (on a dommie), so not too worried abou that...

The front wheel is a different thing I understand... Balancing would be better...

Whats the general consensus on balancing wheels, so I bring some 'lead' and attempt to balance the wheels or just forget about the whole thing?

p.s i realise its not honda specific but were else to post?

if you're using rim locks, that's the most important mass to balance out so fit the rim locks with the road tyres, balance the wheels and don't worry about it when you put the trail tyres on.

Thanks

REAR = balance with road tyre & rim locks
FRONT = balance with road tyre, NO rim locks

Right?

Definitely put a rim-lock in the rear ... one will do. I'd go for a rim-lock on the front, too. its not as fiddly as the one on the back and there's a lot of downhill braking in the Atlas and that might rip your valve out at a really incovenient moment! I'd also go for heavy duty inner tubes as morocco has some very stoney pistes.
