Doomie Tools/Spares

Hi Ali

I have an NX650T which I've done a bit of travelling on.

To keep the weight down, only take the tools needed for the breakdowns you can fix if there's no help available. Anywhere there are people, there are tools to borrow.

I would forget the sockets, spanners will do fine. My tool kit's with my broken down Doomie in Leicester at the moment, so I can't be 100% sure, but I think you'll need a 19mm for the front wheel spindle. Also, I can't recall an 11/13/15/16mm bolt on the bike either.

Have the spare cables (apart from speedo) tie wrapped to the existing (with the ends taped over) for fast switching. One spare thottle cable can double for either.

Rim protectors are a good idea if you're worried about the bike's appearance, other than that, I think you've got it covered.

Regards, Mick

Hi Ali,
I have used my Dommy mostly for OZ out back riding.
Tool and spare requirment will depend on how far and where you depend to ride.
I agree with Mick on the spanners, leave out the 11-13-15-16-18 sizes ,none of these sizes are used on the Dommie, unless you have accessories on your bike that require a non Honda size.
Sockets,I always carry a good quality quarter inch drive set 8-10-12 and 14.
Apart from Ben's list,I also when riding in distance lands carry a spare front and rear sprocket.
Regards Ben

Have you completed your visas. Iran visa nomore available in İstanbul for foreigners.
Presently South of Tebris is 45 deg.centigrade. And end of April, desert storms will begin there.
Hope you get the climate conditions in your tool box!!!
Anyway if you want to gain time, ı will recommend you to get the train from İstanbul to İran border which will save you more time.
