'03 AT Fuel Pump Relay in New Delhi. Workarounds/ solutions

Thanks to the forums, I was able to find a competent super-bike mechanic in New Delhi, thanks for that.

The problem appears to be a faulty fuel pump relay to my Facet fuel pump.

The explanation of why it was determined that the relay was the problem was less than encouraging. The mechanic basically said my fuel pump was shot (which would be fine except for the fact that its a 3 month old Facet fuel pump) and was planning to outfit me with a Honda CBR fuel pump, stating that I shouldn't be using a "car" fuel pump anyway. Later he determined that the relay was the problem, because the fuel pump would turn back on when he "tapped" the relay. Conclusion: the relay is faulty.). However, he is one of the best in New Delhi. So it goes.

We are currently scouring New Delhi for the tiny part no. cf318

I'm gonna phone the KTM shops around New Deli in the morn, as well as the new Honda Wing World location my buddy just told me about. The mechanic is going to ask around town as well.

Any other workarounds? Other machines to cannibalize? General well wishes/ anyone want to ride up to Lakakh with me whenever it is I get this sorted?

Thank a million!

Andrew

just tap the power to your pump from your taillight or something, or switched 12V.
The only problem is it won't stop then in a crash, but you'll be able to drive.

We have two AT's with a switch so we can put the pumps on direct 12v to fill up our MSR stove.... and we've forgotten to switch it back pretty often ;-) So no problems there.

Be careful with car pumps, most of them have a higher pressure which will mess up your floater valves. Had that in Chile with my AT, no fun!
