Uprating a 40-10 3200mm wheelbase truck
 

I have just uprated my 40-10w. I now have a gross weight of 4450kg which is the maximum permitted weight for this model.
I used SV Tech who charged £312 including VAT, quite a lot for a paper exercise but considering I was probably over the weight limit of 4050kg and driving mainly in UK and Europe I thought it was worth the expense. The chances of being weighed by VOSA is slim but there is a VOSA weighbridge near me and trucks and vans do get pulled. The fine can be heavy probably more than the £312
When the paperwork is received from SV Tech it is a simple matter of sending the reg document to DVLA with the said paper work. There is no charge from DVLA.

money well spent, the fines can run into the thousands, and it's not a good endorsement to have as well!
