Holes, Andy Warhol?

I have just been mucking about with the van, removing all the antenna from the roof, this leaves a 20mm hole, is this too big for a grommet, should I sikoflex a steel plate, or go with rubber. Obviously that will be quick, just a bit concerned that they may melt in the African sun and start to leak, any experience welcome.

I sikaflexed plates over the numerous holds left in the roof of my truck and have had no issued at all. I used Sikaflex 221 and painted the whole roof in Acrypol to cover the seams and rivets. The potential headache from having water ingress is not worth the small time saving of using grommets in my opinion. Cutting a plate and sikaflexing it in place wont take you long.
