Ramey "Coach" Stroud

It is with great sadness that I report that Coach, as he was known by everyone, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019.
To all he came into contact with, his strength of will, his wonderful teachings, and most of all his joy for life were a huge inspiration.
He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, and especially his wife Anja.

Here's a recent story on him:

Coach Stroud is an inspiration. The first time i heard his interview on ARR, I had to rewind to be sure i heard him correctly when he was in a Supercross style race, jumped so high that he caught some cables in the ceiling. Mind you he was in his 50's! In that interview, he said he was paralized & the doctors told him to prep his house for life in a wheelchair. He basically told the doctors "You're wrong, Not me"
An unbelievable story, may we all have a little bit of his fight.
Godspeed Coach Stroud

I met Ramey at a few HU Meets and the inaugural HUMM.
His strength of character seemed to fill the space around him and linger even after he left.

I greatly appreciated his sense of humor, his passion for motorcycle riding and instructing, and his courageous life-affirming 'mind over matter' journey to recover from his adversities.

Thank you Coach - you certainly inspired me!

Many months late as I am still a new member although have been lurking for quite a while now. Sorry for your loss, he surely will continue to be an inspiration for the rest of us. "Focus on his good memories and let these memories bring comfort."
