Where to get EU insuance that covers me as a non resident

Hi guys,

I own an Irish motorcycle and using my friends address. It was under his name until recently and I was using his insurance with me as a co-rider. Its back in my name now and I am looking to get it re-insured, I am not sure what my best options are. I looked at Liberty insurance but unfortunately they only offer 3 months coverage in the EU outside of Ireland, im looking for something that offers at least 6 months but preferably a full 12. I contacted Lobagola but they said they arent doing anything with coverage in Ireland from April until next year, I might still go with them. I found a German company called TourInsure that seems like they could but thought I would get some input from this forum first. Most posts on here are pretty outdated and covid has shaken everything up a bit so thought I would just make a new post.

Cheers.

What country issued your driver licence?

What is your country of residence?

This information is needed before an accurate reply can be given.

1) Are you sure they are limiting coverage in the EU outside Ireland, and not outside the EU? Ireland is part of the EU/EEA, Green Card validity should be equal to your normal Irish insurance validity.

2) Not to put too fine a point on it, but you're not allowed to be in the Schengen area for more than 90 days in any consecutive 6 months anyway. Unless you have a long-term visa.

Yeah I am sure, I called them and talked about it and looked at their policy, not sure why its like that.

I am only allowed in Schengen for 90 days out of every 180, but that is cumulative not consecutive and it ticks over every 180 days anyway so I will be in and out of Schengen throughout the year. I am also looking at options for staying longer in particular countries through Visas so having the insurance already done for my bike would be helpful.
