UK Insurance with an American License?
 

I am an American rider with a US and UAE motorbike license. I an trying to buy a bike in London, where I currently am, to travel through Europe, but am finding it quite tricky trying to figure out how I can get insured etc with my foreign license.

If anyone has any knowledge about this or has experience in doing something similar in the UK, I would greatly appreicate the input.

This question comes up from time to time and I admit I do not pay much attention to the answer as it does not affect me but if nobody comes up with a better solution such as a UK insurer who will cover you it might be that you have to buy in the Irish Republic where it seems getting insurance is easier.
