U.S. vin bike for purchase.
 

Hello All,
I am trying to find an American Vin Harley in Europe so that i can travel for about 2-3 months then ship to Canada and continue to Texas. I am American and was wondering how hard would it be to purchase and title a bike in my name? Can you give your opinion on shipping to Canada vs selling in Europe? I would like a Bagger Harley or something with hard bags so i could put my gear in and secure while i camp thru my travels. I am a fully figured man so a bigger bike would be nice. Please let me know any other options you might think of.

There's a market for American Harleys in Europe. If a US VIN bike has a type approval certificate and an EU plate already, that's an investment someone's made, and it would probably make financial sense to sell the bike again in Europe. And if you're not sentimental about a specific bike, then chances are you'd lose less money selling and buying in Canada than shipping a bike over, AND going through the hassle of changing over to a US or Canadian plate when you arrive. (If you're a foreigner entering a country on a foreign-plated bike, you're a transiting tourist; if you're a citizen entering on a foreign-plated bike, you're importing it and are liable for customs duties.)
