Tyres - Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia
 

Can anyone advise where they have bought tyres to fit a BMW R80 GS in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia. Leaving on the 1st and am still wondering if I need to carry tyres, or if I can buy some on the way. We have 2 BMW's and are riding to Vladivostok.

Anyone with recent experience please share your throughts.

Or has anyone freighted tyres to a location and picked them up along the way? How much did that cost and where there any problems?

Any advice would be great.

In Kazakhstan you can get tyres via "My Town Moto" in Almaty (At Timuryazava - Baytursunove) - look out for the Ural on the roof

In Russia most big towns have bike shops - in Siberia try NBS Motor in Novosibirsk (www.nbsmotor.ru). Will go to the Ukraine in a few days, and as for Mongolia I never made it that far. Bugger.
