I have had a look at the article in the Land Rover mag , its a bit of a waste of time and I dont think you will find it very useful.I have ridden off road in the Alps on the border of France and Italy as well as in the hills an mountains down by the coast near San Remo .If you buy some French IGN maps and some Ialian maps you coudl work out a route with a fair amount of off road , be warned though the Italian maps can be totally inaccurate

Long time lurker here. I just got back from doing the Stella Alpina rally in Bardonecchia and the day afterwards we rode from Lac Du Mont Cenis in France via Lac du Savine then over Col Clapier at around 2500 meters altitude we then headed down single track until about 2000 meters altitude and then the track was washed out and we had to slide out bikes sideways down to the next bend in the track. We then managed to ride on single track to about 1800 meters when the path was completely washed away. We then had to ditch the bikes hike down and climb back up the next day from above the town of Susa with ropes and a mountain guide to rope the bikes across the numerous bits of path that has disintegrated. I use the word path loosely as it was about 30cm wide with huge drop offs to the side. We were on 250 enduro bikes and had to work as a team to get them across.
Anyways I think this might possibly be the route you refer to? I was wondering if you or anyone else has ever ridden it on enduro bikes before? There is not much info about it that I can find. I have photos and video of the path we took plus the other riders in our group of four had gps trackers etc.
