Does anybody know if it's ok to ride from Hakkari to Midyat via Sirnak in south east Turkey.

Drove Van - Hakkari - Sirnak - Siirte - Bitlis - Tatvan last month in a Toyota 4x4, no problems. A few stops by police, mostly just waved through upon showing a German passport. Nice drive, cities are nothing (except Bitlis, lovely place), but the scenery is quite nice. Seems to be calm these days.

Nestorian church in Kochanes, near Hakkari is a nice place to explore, great place to camp too, seriously beautiful.

It is safe and there is no problem at all...
