Vfr

we did 3000+ miles 2 up on a 1990 VFR750 last year and plan to do it again this year. our mechanical problems were pretty minor (rear brakes got a little hinky on the steep downhills). its pretty comfortable & a very trusty bike for us:) good luck

Sell the DT125R and make a profit!

Hi Chris :mchappy:

You may not be aware, but that bike could net you a grand and then you can buy my fully loaded FJ1200, as it is up for £995. Or I will take it as a p/ex. I also have a rare upright VFR 400 V4 that would handle the trip without a hitch for £750.

I can't agree with the pro 125 two stroke supporters, as you will spend most of your time wondering which overtaking lorry you are going to be sucked under! And I'm not kidding, as 125's slow to about 40 to 45 MPH on most gradients and are just downright dangerous.

Good luck

Chris

Yes
I'm just seeing that this 125 could be worth a fair bit more than I can buy it for. Maybe that's the thing to do.....buy it anyway, sell it then go for something a bit better and bigger. An FJ1200 isn't the right thing for me though Chris, I'm going to need something a lot more economical. Nice idea....but not practical for me at the moment.
I spoke to my friend with the 125 last night and he said he'll hold it for me until the weekend at £500. I think I'll buy it as I have time to sell it before I'm going to need the actual bike I'll be going on.

Many thanks for your help with this.

Regards
Chris
