Erdogan targets more than 50,000 in purge after failed Turkish coup | Reuters
"Around 50,000 soldiers, police, judges, civil servants and teachers have been suspended or detained since the coup attempt, stirring tensions across the country of 80 million which borders Syria's chaos and is a Western ally against Islamic State." Like I wrote, good luck. Imho it sounds like it might be wise to stay clear, but it's your call of course. |
Global Rescue's Assessment of Post-Coup Attempt Turkey

Our last night in Turkey. We've travelled from Batumi to Gallipoli. We've met many welcoming and warm-hearted people and been made welcome in their country.
Not one police check. There are a lot of flags on show and there was a rally in the town square outside out hotel one evening.not a big deal. Turkey is a fantastic place to visit. Stay away from the Syrian border and Diyarbakir. |
