Georgia - Aserbaidschan - on a Streetbike?

Hi all,
I have this idea in mind to travel to Iran. My plan is to have the bike transported to Georgia - fly to Tiflis and then see whether I can make it into Iran or whether they wont let me in with my > 250cc bike.

My real concern is a different one:
How much do I need an Off-road bike for Georgia and or Aserbaidschan and possible Iran?

Sure - I wont be able to go ALL the places on a Honda CBF streetbike. Still - Can someone say how much I might be missing ?

How good are the roads ?
Can it still be a trip of a Lifetime or do I limit myself too much ?

Thanx to all of you who HAVE BEEEN there and speak from their experience !

Greetings,
Axell

I have ridden to Georgia and Azerbaijan on a Honda 125 and can say you should have no problem at all with a 250cc road bike, no idea about whether or not you can get into Iran with it but again the bike itself will be fine.

Iran has a pretty well maintained road system. You won't have to do off-road unless you go looking for it, or if you want to go to really remote places.

Georgia also has plenty of paved roads to get you to all kinds of nice places. But maintenance can be a bit more lacking in some areas. So it can be bumpy or potholed. But there's really no need for an off-road bike.

Hello

For a 250 cc street bike there is no problem at all with main and intercity roads.

I travelled between Baku - Tbilisi - Sarpi - Rize - Trabzon several times so I know the roads a bit...

Enjoy your ride...

And by the way, it is no problem to get into Iran with a bike bigger 250cc.

This gossip is around to long and makes everyone crazy
