France/Italy campsites open all winter
On a direct route from Calais south to Paris - Lyon - Nice - then down Italian west coast and across to Bari.
Don't mind short detours away from the main roads, but nothing at altitude given the time of year. |
You will find some municipal sites open (near the towns) but most will be closed. If you want to save money I would advise wildcamping, its easy to do in France. You will find lots of rest areas (aires de repos) along the national roads and autoroutes where you can easily wlidcamp and all of the service stations on these roads have showers that cost around euro 1.50 to use. You wont get hassled by anyone as wildcamping is quite popular, and you will save money too :thumbup1:

Thanks Norma, however I prefer to totally relax at a campsite when travelling long distances in a day. I've found a few thanks to advanced search on this link.France French Camp Sites and Caravan Site Search Page
