Floodings in Bosnia and Serbia
Don't know if anyone have been following it, but Bosnia and Eastern Serbia have had 3 months of rain in 3 days ..
Bosnia floods trigger landslides, unearth mines In Bosnia lots of mines have been unearthed and moved around, be careful. |
I'm curious about this as well - I'm hoping to visit both Belgrade and Mostar in August.

Most of the flooding has subsided but the rain hardly ever stopped while i was there , that bad i cut my trip short , but no problems with mines !!! well i'm still alive !!and i did a fair bit of off road along the Bosnian boarder

Well
I passed Serbie last week and close to the Bulgarian border it still had lots of submerged areas.. don't know about Bosnia.. But it wasn't raining much when I was there but surely when you go off road it will be very muddy in many areas.. A. Verstuurd van mijn GT-I9100 met Tapatalk |
Will be there in a couple of weeks, by car and also Montenegro, if relevent will give an update, as I am aware that lots of roads have been washed away, particularly in Bosnia.

Great to read these updates! :) I'll be looping from Budapest to Belgrade, then to Mostar and over to Croatia. Anyone have any sources for checking road conditions and to see to what extent roads between those cities might have been affected?

From The FCO Stanje na putevima Google Chrome will translate. |
Thanks! My Google-fu hadn't found that. Safari translates as well :)

I am heading to Croatia - Bosnia on Friday and on the way back (around 10 days) through Kosovo. I'll also let you know about the situation, though a few friends who came back just a few days ago from Bosnia and Kosovo had no problems.

Currently in Sarajevo, saw no problems with the roads...I would say most of them (if not nearly all of them) are a real gift to ride, only current problem is police...we had our passports taken due to overtaking a slow car, we were ok to pay for it (17 euros) until the cop said in 2 days...we told him that was not an option since we are heading to Italy tomorrow, but he wanted no talk about it...then with the help of a local guy we found we got our passports back by paying directly to the policeman (then it became clear what this was all about)...a few seconds later he stopped a local rider for the same and more (plus speeding) but he let him go just when he saw he had local plates...take care and keep an eye on hidden police vehicles in villages...

Crossed Bosnia saw no problems, apart from maybe a few miles of typical road problems from the recent rains.
Apart from that no other problems, roads are in perfect conditions. |
Typing as we speak in Trebinje in BIH, crossed from Croatia this morning, heading up to Foca tomorrow. It was oddly wet today with more rain given, but no signs of any major problems
