Driving my 4x4 in Norway

Hello,
Do I need any additional, or special insurance.

I have fully comprehensive insurance, here in the UK.

What if my tax disc expires, or my MOT expires while I am in Norway.

What do I do.?

As I understand it, many car insurance policies do cover for foreign travel (including Norway) for up to 90 days - BUT remember to check the details of your policy!!!

Officially, your insurance is dependant on current/valid MOT and road tax - you could take the risk of everything going ok - but being the boring old soul that I am - I'd get the MOT done before I went - and probably do the tax on-line whilst I was away

You'll be covered for EU basic ins, which is 3rd party, unless you contact your insurer and pay whatever they charge to extend your cover overseas.

MOT and tax: check previous posts about this - necessary to play carefully with the DVLA, who will tell you that you have exported your vehicle if you go over 1 year away - never, ever talk to them on the phone - do it online.
