Corsica/Sardinia
Never been here, bike or not, but like the look of it for a short trip (own bike riding from UK). What are the opportunities for off-road (TET type stuff)? How much is accessible/legal?
My instincts tell me that Corsica is likely to be difficult, being smaller and French - but hopefully I'm wrong! |
Sardinia has some lovely mountain ranges. See here: https://www.sardinia-inside.com/where-to/mountains.html
It's a few years ago now, but I enjoyed some off-road riding in the Gennargentu, east of Aritzo. The Sardinians don't seem to mind off-roading. I haven't tried any dirt roads on Corsica, because the tarred roads were enjoyment pure. Just watch out for gravel washed down from steep tracks ending on a tarmac road. Sometimes such a gravel patch will surprise you right behind a sharp curve :( Although the landscape of Corsica is divine, I preferred Sardinia for its laid-back people :thumbup1: |
