Cheap accomodation Germany/Switzerland/Italy...
 

Hi all

I'm heading down to Tuscany for a wedding in late August but I'm planning to take a week or so to get there. Initial plans were to camp but having recently done a run in France I've decided that, if I can avoid it, I'd prefer to leave the camping gear at home as it takes up so much space on the bike.

So, getting to the point, can anybody recommend cheap accomodation in these countries ?. I'm thinking 30-40 euro's per night (max, I'm on a budget). Any hotel chains like the etap's in France fine.

Any thoughts welcome.

Hello Paul,
well I would say you could stay at some bed&breakfast locations in Switzerland. You will find most of them on the following page:

However, the prices can vary according to the standard. But have a look yourself.

I've only used hostels in Germany and Italy so can only comment for those. You're looking at 20-25 euro's per night.

I've not actually tried any of the accomodation listed, but a friend of mine's listed her chambre d'hotes on this site

Might be worth a glance, it's bike-friendly accomodations worldwide apparently, don't know about prices, but at least you'd be guaranteed a friendly face.
