Cbt 125 Info
hi all i have a full car licance (11 years) and am going to do my cbt after doing this will i be able to ride a 125 any palce in europe or is the cbt just for the uk?

there is a chat here about it but the general thought is no you will need a full licence however I would contact the dvla for a definitive answer

I think your answer is most likely to be no. The European directives on licences now cover all EU member countries with only some minor differences in the testing procedures. A cbt pass is not a licence, although you are covered by your full car licence Cat B to ride a bike up to 125cc 11kw, but only in your own country of residence and over a certain age ( it's 21 here in france). I think your min requirement would be to have passed a Cat A1 to enable you to ride outside the U.k.
A quick call to an insurance company would probably give you a good answer as well as the DVLA. :scooter: |
I agree with Pongo. In Germany, we don't even habe a CBT so in order to ride a 125cc bike up to 11kw you need the A1 license, anything bigger than that A license. I'm pretty sure German (replace German with any given European country here) police wouldn't even know what a CBT 125 even is.
