Camping in UK and Europe

I'm planning to travel there next June for about a month and plan to camp most nights in good weather. My question--can one generally find campsites without having to make reservations. If so--ballpark prices.
I plan on riding Ireland , Wales, Scotland, and northern and central Europe.

No problem.

Campsites are everywhere and in june they have enough free places.
Even in july you won't have much trouble to find a place for a tent.

Hi Bob

Contact the communities on your route in advance. Not only a mine of local information but also they want to meet fellow travellers; plus it's free to camp in back gardens!

Prices should be roundabout 10 - 15 Euros. If you keep your eyes open you might spot a nice hideaway in the wild - if your tent isn't bright yellow...

Hi Bob,
We ended up mostly using B&B's in Scotland and England due to the normal(wet) weather, which can become expensive.
Do contact the HU Communities and you will make new friends, get great local riding info and it saves alot on the budget.(we later learned )
Europe has good camping with many campsite location guides available, and they can always find a spot for a tent.
Most towns have signs on the outskirts that will direct you to campsites, if you arrive in daylight...
France has very good municipal camping in most cities and towns for around 7 Euro's.
We found the red Michelin 1/100,000 maps have good detail and mark the wonderful scenic routes in green.
Unfortunatly a month will only be enough time to whet your appetite... Cheers

Bob,
try the following link:

Should be lots cheaper than B&B.

Good luck,
Hans
