Bike storage in Geneva

Hello all,

I m flying off Geneva for a long travel in South America after i shipped my other bike to Buenos Aires from Lisbon. Anybody knows where i could leave the bike for that time in Geneva...any member or any long term parkway like in London?

Thanks for your ideas.

Philippe

I don't know about Geneva. But I can offer you a safe and dry spot in one of my storages in Zurich. That's infact a 3.15hrs train-ride from Geneva. Maybe not ideal, but one possibility if there's no other offers show up here.
In case I can help you, please mail me to: boss at cooltours dot ch

Thanks for your kind offer René.

I m living in Courchevel so I m even closer to Geneva than you can be but the public transport from the Tarentaise to Geneva is fairly sparse so i have to leave home at 9 am to take a plane in Geneva at 5 pm. Riding takes 2 hours (150 km), which makes things much more convenient. I might come back off season which will make it even longer to get back home.

So basicly i m looking for a hint similar to the London one, a covered public garage where i could leave the bike safe for an extended period of time with few thievery risks for an affordable fee. The fees offered at the airport are not very accomodating for long term travelers ( 15 CHF/day, so if i leave for one year it will be around 5,500 CHF, the price of the bike! :nono:

If you ever come to the french alps feel free to park your bike at my place, it s free off season ( April 15 to Dec 15), very safe, covered and lit:thumbup1:

I found out there was a free parking for 2 wheels at the Geneva airport :
http://www.gva.ch/Desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-191/ (sorry in french)

but two questions remain :

Is it safe ("partially covered")?
Is there a time limit?

Anybody has experience with that airport?

Philippe

Well, since we dont seem to have many people from Geneva around here, i ll go and check that free parking at the airport this week end. Let s pray for a decent weather..
