Bike friendly acc. in Cannes?

I'm riding to Cannes in late July / early August this year (dates to be confirmed) and was wondering if anyone knew of any hotels / B+B's that were particularly bike friendly? ?c?

Any thoughts would be welcome . . .:D

just my thoughts

in july/august the cote azur is packet with tourists and the prices are high... :oops2:

in Cannes you won`t find a cheap accomodation, if you find something ...
:eek3:

watch your bike and stuff .... :frown: main season !

maybe stay in the mountains, it`s nice and cool up there :thumbup1:

Cheers Thomas

I stayed at etap hotel centre ville ( there's about 4 in the area). Rue Mozart, just of the big Bvd Carnet. 5-10mins to seafront, old port. Chained the bike to a 4inch diameter steel barrier concreted into the ground in front of the hotel.
Cost around €45 a couple of years ago

I'd agree with tom traveller though, it'll be rammed in July/august and prices may be hiked up

As for bike friendly I may have been lucky but don't think I've ever been to a french hotel (inc Paris) that wasn't, including one guy at a family run hotel in Millau who moved his car and insisted I lock my bike in his garage!

Thanks ntvfrog. I looked at this hotel, and for 5 euros a day they have secure underground parking - I booked it straight away!

As for the silly season - I agree, BUT I'm a massive film buff and want to enjoy the place vicariously! As a teacher (and unlike the kids) I can't, unfortunately, take time to go when the film festival is actually on, so I'll have to enjoy it second hand.

Thanks for the help.:thumbup1:

whilst your in the area.
Verdon Gorge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

absolutely beautiful. i find it's better riding around it anti-clockwise.

Endurodude 19 Apr 2011 19:33

Anti-clockwise it is! I've changed my route to accomodate this. I'm travelling from Lyon via Alpe d'Huez (as a fan of Le Tour, you kind of have to go here!), then on down to Verdon Gorge, then to Cannes.

Thanks for the heads up!:D
