Baltic States and Russia

Mother (Pensioner - ME!) and daughter (beautiful - 23) journeying on separate Honda 500s to Baltic states and hopefully on to Russia (St Petersburg) in August 05. Not camping.
Advice/warnings/info on anything?
Grateful.

Hi a group of us are going in July 05 and I found details of an english guy Iian Woolley who had done the same trip in 2004 very helpful.have a look on his site on "Trips" http://www.iain.wooley.net. I also bought the Rough Guide to the Baltics, which is very good.If you need any further info, email me.
Have a safe trip

Hi!

Great idea, feel free to contact regarding Russia and St. Petersburg, I've stayed in Mother Russia for 5 months.

Grateful for Iain Woolley contact. Ploughing through it. Also have Baltic Rough Guide now.
Thanks, Margus, for Estonia contact. Concerns about accommodation in smaller towns/villages. Will we be able to find somewhere each night without booking ahead? Rough Guide says might be a problem.
Good luck for July, Speedmaster. Will you be back to share your experiences before we leave early August?

I was planning on getting to Russia around September but knowing there's a beautiful 23 year old lady biker going to be there in August I might have to set off early http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/wink.gif

I found this page an absolute mine of information with regard to travelling through Russia: http://dreamers1.com/russia/Practica...ticalities.htm

I'm planning on camping as much as possible and this has allayed quite a few of my fears.

Best of luck.
