Albania
 

i want to cut through Albania from Montenegro en route to Greece and Turkey . Can someone tell me what the best crossing points are and if the roads are do able on a Pan :helpsmilie:Am thinking that if i do a very early start then i should make it in a day ??

Don't know about crossing points but with caution due to many roads with bad surfaces it is easily doable on a 'pan'. Enjoy!

Have been i the most of the Albanian country except the North part....

If you make this route you dont have any problem even with a goldwing....

Be careful of the donkeys,cows,dogs,sheeps....

Try to avoid the mainland of Albania...The roads are full of holes.And be careful in night riding(avoid it).

Thanks for that - am thinking i may overnight in Durres just to divide the journey unless you know of a better resort further along :D

Durres is not the most beautiful place in the country.
I suggest you to stop south of Vlore, south of the pass: beautiful!

It's absolutely a beautiful place: Dhermiu is the most famous village.
Been there two times: in June it was ok, in August a bit crowded, but absolutely still worth a stop, also Himara and Porto Palermo are beautiful.
Much better than the bigger cities like Durres, Vlore or Saranda.

Enjoy Albania: it's a beautiful country, and also cheap

The coastal road are not bad. You'll have no problem.
Much better Vlore than Durres to overnight.

have decided to take a couple of nights in Albania rather than just whizz thru it . It wasnt originally on my must see list but having looked at some phjotos it would be rude not to have a look :scooter:
