primetech rooftents
Hello all,
are primetech rooftents any good? i have the opportunity to buy one second hand, well off someone who claims to have not used it. Cheers Pete |

I have since sold it and bought a Maggiolina which I FULLY recommend :thumbup1: the only advantage the PT tent has is it is light (~30-35kg) due to its composate baseboard and thinner matress (compared to others). HTH G |
righto, sounds like it may not be suitable.
i am driving to tanzania and back and staying out there. Theoretically i could be using it for upto 6months, but realistically at least 75 days The primetech tent is being offered for £300, i have the option of a tentco tent for £750. Price is a consideration but given the use it may see i need something to last! can you advise please? Cheers Pete |
The tentco is a cheaper ezi awn copy so will weigh a lot lot more than the primetech due to the wooden base. I looked at a new one and the build quality wasn't great either. The wooden base is treated before the fittings are attached and the screws were in at all angles, splitting the wood and exposing the untreated base, so it wouldn't be too long before the problems start.

Tentco
Hi Pete,
I'd like to offer some factual information, rather than armchair speculation: After 3 years of commercial expedition use (you've seen how hard they work), my Tentco roof-tents are still as sound as the day I fitted them. Regards, Barrie |
