Locking spare wheel cover?

Wondering if anybody sells a spare wheel cover that locks, even in a rudimentary way?

It's quite useful space to stick hoses etc but I'd feel happier doing it if something had a small padlock that at least took 1 minute to get past ;-)

Any suggestions? Obviously nothing too bling is required ;-) 7.50 R16 tyres etc

Spare Wheel Covers

I used to get canvas covers made in the souk with a very strong nylon draw cord. You could conceivably do this with wire and get end loops put on that you could padlock thro.

I gave up on all sorts of proprietory plastic type covers as they got me filthy every time i touched them. The canvas are hardy, washable and peel off easy with the drawcord.

I used to chain and padlock the spare to the rear mounting bracket and thread a bit of gargen hose over the chain to stop it rattling.Works a treat.

Anothe possibility to investigate would be to use a canvas/nylon wheel cover and then a PackSafe wire across all of it- with the padlock on the inside of the wheel well facing the vehicle.
