I want to build a Camper.......need

I plan to purchase a 4x4 truck and convert into a camper. I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me about some good websites which have information about building cabins at the rear.

Thanks

Hi,

Camper conversions seem to be a popular sport with the owners of 101 Forward Control Landrovers and Unimogs. Search the web for this LR model and you'll find plenty of info. Here's a tip: www.maximog.com

Check out the Turtle V in the vehicles section. It's propably the coolest camper I've seen so far.

The Maximog is cooler that the Turtle truck but I'm guessing the owner won't be having a good day, the first time thieves nick it. Suddenly the desire for a series 3 LR may take over. Equally I'm guessing someone like the Algerian Authorities would have a field day stripping out all the banned electronics before allowing it into the country.

Hi

I met two innovations built vehicles in Africa and they were both superbly built and put together with some very nice design touches.
But I imagine fairly pricey - but if money was not an object.....

Happy travels

Check out www.allrad-christ.com for Bremach conversions.
Know the owner of the only UK registered Bremach overland truck. Allrad Christ supplied the truck and Lyndi built the elevating body. It took 9 months for Lyndi to complete the bare body shell, but the finished article is a work of art. Don't ask how much!

Checkout these links for a ready built body vehicle

Been to look at one of them and they are impressive.

Build quality is great but a bit slow and lumbering - needs some work on the engine to get more power.

In response to ChrisC explaining about the innovation built vehicles (I assume he means innovation campers in germany by that). We have purchased a 7 year old TLC HZJ 75 and will pick it up at innovation campers thursday. It is indeed not the cheapest solutions but boy do these guys know how to build an expedition vehicle! It's a relatively small company and they have more work than they can handle. Burkhard and his team are extremely nice people and very professional craftsmen. I'll let you guys know how the car is holding when we're on the road. We'll be in Tunesia for some practice the second half of december, and on a semi RTW (Africa and South America in 2004 and part of 2005.
