What is better for sand and desert`s Africa, steel or allu rims?

Generally the steel wheels are recommended since they are easier to fix if anything goes wrong.

Regarding the alu wheels - from experiences published on various web forums toyota alu rims have quite a good reputation.

I personally use steel wheels.
