strength of dommies sub frame

of to india on a 1990 dommie for a long time and i'm slightly concerned about the sub frame. suzukis hayabusa has had problems with luggage straining the subframe. my girlfriend and i weigh aprox 130 kgs and because i havent got the luggage system together yet i can only estimate that will be around 30-40 kg including the boxes. i want to put luggage around the tank area to balance out the weight. will i need to brace the sub frame?
cheers tom.

I think that needs to be reinforced ...a simple way is to connect with a bar the footrests with the luggage tray - I had used (with success) an Aluminium bar of 25 x 8 mm. it's possible to bend it on a workbench but it's stiff enough . better again to have a touratech or similar carrier ...but if you have nit the money ...

thanks, sounds similar to what david lambert in south england has recommended. i might get him to make my luggage and the racks made from thick tubing should do the trick.
cheers tom.
