Hard Plastic Panniers?

I think I remember discussion on some newly developed plastic panniers for a KLR here. It might be my imagination, but if so, has anyone tried them out, and does anyone have the link to the website?

OK, so I had to do the hard work myself. I was referring to the Caribou system utilising Pelican cases:

These seem like a great alternative to aluminium or Givi cases, but it doesn't look like anyone is using them. Lovely product though it is, a Metal Mule system would cost me around $1270 compared to $695 for the Caribou.

I'm using 1550 pelican cases. As panniers.

They are tough! Don't shatter into bits in a fall, they do abrade .. but at 6 mm thick will take some time to ware through. They are still water (and dust) tight after lots of abuse.

Thanks for the input Frank. Pelicans sound great, and I'm pretty much sold on that option. How did you come by your rack. Was it a purpose built system or DIY? Thanks

Pelican type cases are very tough, like Frank said. I've used one before as a jackstand for a 4x4 vehicle.
They float, they're cool, they're secure, they can crawl on their belly like a reptile....step inside to see the Pelican-face boy. :)

The only thing that isn't great is their weight. Also the added mounting rack(s).

But then, everything in this world can't be blonde, busty and lusty....

I will not go with metal side boxes. Maybe Pelicans mounted rearward and a little high. Or bear spray impregnated soft bags. Dunno...

I just posted some photos of my top box on a home made rack here: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ee-strom-27204

I also have the Pelican 1430's on the sides but the photos I posted are old because I can't find my camera, still I hope you give it a look see, they've worked great for me.

I purchased the $10 Pelican cases from eBay (need to fill some holes), the Packrat rack and building my own supports from aluminum.

I purchase 6 cases but I don't think I will use them all.
