12v pumps

Hi people

I’m looking for a good quality 12v pump. Chris Scott recommends the CyclePump in the adventure motorcycling handbook

CyclePump Tire Inflator & mini compressor: BestRest Products BMW motorcycle accessories

Can’t seem to find a dealer the UK and I don’t want to pay for postage and possibly import/tax duty from the US. Are they sold in the UK or have I got to order from that site ?

What other solutions do you lot use? I only want to buy once so, I’m not looking for cheep plastic C**P for 10 quid.

Thanks
Shaun

Thanks for the reply :)

I was just looking at that slime pump on a UK site

Crossan Motorcycles Ltd Tyre Accessories

or

Matt Savage Land Rover Parts 60 Series (12 volt)

34 GBP - By the time I get all the fittings I could have got a cycle pump from the US…. Looks like the slime pump I recon, only 30 GBP with all the bits, and a case :)

Shaun,

I just brought a cheap tyre pump, about 4.99 and took the pump out of it's plastic housing and it works fine. Small and compact, you have to keep your fingers out of the way when using it. I like to live dangerously.

Did the same. There's not a lot that can go wrong with them, just keep the pump free from dirt and dust.
I've just made another from the guts of a halfords pump - they had them on half price offer for about £12, and it's more powerful than the cheaper ones, and has a sturdy metal chuck.

I've done the same as well. Tucks nicely under my seat and works like a champ. One of the best things I supplied myself with before I left.

MotoEssentials.com and MotoPumps.com for Ultra Compact Pumps and Emergency Tire Repair Kits for Motorcycles...

This is where I got my one, small efficient and cheap.

I have Ultraseal in my tires (love it) but even with the goop sloshing around a small hole in the inner tube you still need to maintain pressure to get it to plug the hole. So the above pump is always in my topbox.

Hope that helps someone

Lee
