Best bit of kit for general everything?
Hi all,
I’m trying to find out what sort of tech I’m going to need to bring for an African north to south trip. If possible I would like it to have GPS capabilities, phone calls, texts, internet, word processor, and all round good connectivity. I’m no techy, and not fussy about size, make or anything like that. Any ideas would be great. Preferably not too expensive. |
Christ, now you're asking...
GPS = Loads of stuff out there .Garmin make the best stuff. From £80-800 Phone = Get a very cheap and nasty unlocked Nokia for £10 and just buy sim cards in the countries you visit for a couple of quid. Very easy. Laptop = Get a small 10" netbook. Acer eee, HP Mini etc. You say you're not fussy about size but trust me, you want everything as small and light as possible. Space and weight are CRITICAL on a long bike trip if you don't want to be a wallowing, miserable pack horse. |
