let me know

Being BC registered will be a problem if one wants to travel through Mexico unless one is in BC to register it befor going to Mexico to pick it up. Mexico will not issue a TIP if the owner is not the one riding the bike. US bikes don't have that problem because they can be transferred remotely.

Ok good to know.I just left BC on Wednesday. I think they make you insure before you can get plates.Im not sure if they need to see bike also.AND A NEW QUESTION.Do I need to be American to register a bike that's owned and registerd in USA ? Whether I buy in USA or from a traveler in the America's ?

VicMitch is entirely correct. This bike would be ideal for someone still in BC who can then take the new plates down on their flight, then send the old plates back for the previous owner to cancel.

ICBC generally does not need to see the vehicle for registration purposes but new owners must register in person and pay the appropriate tax fees and insurance.

BTW, if anyone heads south of the US border with a BC registered vehicle keep the TVIP document or receipts. By presenting it to ICBC you will get a refund for the time the bike was outside of their insurance coverage area (Canada and Mainland US). I did this on my 2010 Central America trip and to the best of my knowledge that still applies.

I think bike sold

icbc sucks...without dealing with vendor face to face and getting original bill of sale for starters its gona be hard to do anything with icbc. I think we'd all like to fly in and ride away. Unfortunately as soon as you cross a border or get pulled over you want your name on paper work. In my case I had someone in BC to do the footwork if seller was there in BC. And if he was in Cancun I may have went there and bought it..sent paperwork back to BC with or with or without plates to register. It wouldn't be buyers responsiblity to return place I don't think.
I am living in Mexico. And I see bikes for sale but it's always been unclear if there is ever an easy way to transact.
