Panama options

Andrew,

I have been reading in the last few days that the back door over the RR Bridge has been open from CR but you can't get past David to get to P. City.

If your on FB, this is a site you want to monitor: https://www.facebook.com/groups/igopanama

Also, many four wheelers have been trying to ship from CR to SA with Fabio in Limon: https://www.ioverlander.com/places/1...nacional-jomar

Good luck and make sure your report back on what works,

The Overland Embassy just published that they are offering Container shipping from Costa Rica to Colombia now, due to the ongoing protests in Panama.

Update from 2 the end of the road. ( FB )

All credit to ( 2 the end of the road. ) Only posting to help...

Here's our account of the Panama situation after crossing it. Hope that information can help others. Warning: the situation move really quickly so it might already have changed in some places. Some roadblocks are fix and others appear and disappear.
We crossed into Panama from Paso Canoa on November 3rd. There was no fuel, no meat, no cooking gas in David from the border all the way to Sona. Basically all Chiriqui province was without gas.
From the border to Panama City, it took us 6 days (including 3 days in David) and came across 25 roadblocks. The vast majority let us through without much negotiation. Take into account that we're on a motorcycle and we could drive around stopped vehicles et blockades. The worst one was in Horconcitos. They wouldn't let us through for 3 days. We even tried to sneak in at 3 am, but this blockade is 24/7 and they threatened to throw rocks at us.
A couple of blockades let us go only if we pushed the motorcycle by foot. Be careful there is a lot of tires, branches, rocks and other debris on the roads. We don't recommend you to cross Panama with the situation, but we know that some will still try.
We wish you all safe travel.
Helping factors : we are on a motorcycle and my boyfriend speak Spanish fluently.
PS :The facebook page I Go Panama: Expats & Travel Info is a great source of information and according to this page, fuel is coming to Chiriqui province.
