MEXICO - Disposing of a bike

When you come to Mexico with your bike, do they stamp it to your passport?
And is there any way to store your bike for couple months?
One more question, how is it with insurance for the bikes?
Happy trails :)

the importation in mexico is valid for 6 month, They didn't stamped my passport for the bike
You can renew the importation at least once, which give you a year.

Where do you plan to leave the bike?

I'd also liek to know about safe storage in Mexico, for 2-3 months. I'm in Peru at the moment but need to go back to Europe for 2-3 months before I hit the US.
At the moment, it's storing either in Ecuador, Colombia or Mexico – though Mexico would be my preferred option if possible. Maybe someone from the HU community there?

Be careful on the southern Mexico border, because they don't like to give you more as 30 days on your tourist card ( So ask for the 180 days, never tell them you go to the USA, then they consider you a "trans migrante and get automatically 30 days) and that's what determin the length of your TIP if they give you 30 days, then only 30 days you get and if you go through Tapachula that Aduana office called VIVA MEXICO is 25 miles down the road after passing the border, after Tapachula ( Take the bypass)
