Any contacts in Mérida? I went in July and while hot, I loved it. Going back in September. Would love to be able to find a bike to rent, and find a local resource for more info.

Merida is indeed a wonderful city and the area to the north with its' flamingos is worth seeing as well. I rented a BMW in Cancun (300km from Merida) in January. In Merida itself I could only find scooter rentals through Veloz.

Thanks for the reply. It is an amazingly beautiful place. I go back in less than 2 weeks. I keep thinking that a MC rental place in Mérida would be a great retirement career for me......

YES!!! Reach out to Candice Griffin at Ko'oX Moto: https://www.facebook.com/kooxmoto/?e...07425&fref=tag. They run tours out of Merida with very capable and well build DR650s. They are active at Horizons Unlimited Meetings. I would imagine they could hook you up with a ride if the timing was right. Tell Candice her favorite photographer, Chris Smith, said "Hola!!!". :-)
