HU Meeting Central Mexico
 

I stayed at a camp ground near Pachuca in the town of Huasca de Ocampo. The place has a lot of spaces for tents plus 10 or 12 cabins. It has a couple of pools, restaurant and a meeting room. Huasca de Ocampo is one of the about 20 Pueblos Magicos (roughly translates to Enchanted Towns) It is about 2 hours from Mexico City.
My question is would anybody be interested in a meeting a little further into Mexico than Creel?
There was quite a lot to do around Huasca. Real del Monte is about 20mins away. Real del Monte is another Pueblo Magico. This is where the English started Football (soccer) in Mexico. It is an old mining town with lots of stores that sell silver trinkets. You can get the Mexican equivalent of Cornish Pastes as they were bought over by the English miners.
I am not really an organiser and don't really have the time to set up a meeting but could help out.

So is anybody interested? I have been to Creel two years in a row and while it is a great place somewhere closer to home for me would be great. Maybe somewhere further from home would be good for some of you.

also, dont forget that the ruins at Teotihuacan are only an hour or so from Pachuca, and that is a must see if you are in the area. Even if the government is (in my opnion) doing too much "maintenance" to the pyramids, it is still very impressive.

That's true the pyramids are really close by. There is also a place called Piedra en el aire or something like that. It is a fairly large rock sticking out of a canyon. THe neat part there was the views of the canyon below and the rocks you could stand on with several hundred feet drops. There are several dirt roads going down into the canyon and I heard some dirt bikes somewhere down below.
So is anybody interested or am I flogging a dead horse?

One reason CC is such a success is because it's so close to the US border, being a 1-2 day ride. Also, the diverse riding opporunities is a factor. Some of the very dirt oriented riders can either trailer to Creel or ride dirt sections on the way.

I'm for most any location that's cool. Just pointing out a few keys for CC....
