Entering Costa Rica from South - Yellow Fever Cert
 

Hi Folks,

Can anyone give me the definitive answer on whether I need a Yellow Fever Certificate for Costa Rica if I am crossing the land border from Panama? I'm getting conflicting answers. I read that Panama is not on the YF list, but of course my passport will show that I have travelled through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru beforehand.

Panama is the issue, not Costa Rica. There is no YF in Panama, so CR could careless, but if coming froma YF Zone (South America/Africa) then Panama requires it.

You may also need proof of Onward Travel too. How are you getting to Panama?

We crossed the boarder from Panama to Costa Rica five days ago and nobody ask about a yellow fever CF. We also coming from South America.

Probably taking a yacht from Cartajena. I'm on a UK passport, girlfriend is Chilean.
