This border crossing is often used to smuggle Gallo into Belize, and that pisses Barry Bowen the hell off....:)

Yip thats me! In Mex city on Wednesday¬ took my time crossing mexico! .. just wishing i had picked up a chinese sub in that flea market the other day in guadalajara!

Hey,

Was in Northern Guatemala heading for Belize when Dean struck. Needless to say got a bit wet and riding the muddy roads was a pain in the arse given that most off them were under a foot of water. Those Chinese Subs would have been handy.

Saw a lot of devastion as I tried to head North - although I got to the point where I headed back to Guatemala. Most of the roads were unpassable due to debris and trees. I am guessing that they would have cleared the roads by now which is handy given that I am in El Salvador now.

You're an Al from London, riding in Central America at the moment? Our paths have to cross, surely! I'm crossing from Mexico into Guatemala next week, then heading up to Belize. Let me know if you fancy a beer or someone to ride with...

Hey Al

I am going to have head back towards the States soon so will be back in Guatemala in the next two days. I will be headed for the La Mesilia border crossing so I may well see you there.

Let me know where you are and we should be able to meet up for that beer.

Yucatan Status

I just spent a few days in Bacalar and a crazy night out in Chetumal. Tons of trees down, no leaves anywhere, not much to look at right now. All structures seemed to have held up really well. The worst mosquitos I have ever been a part of..... all different sizes, some were HUGE!

The place doesn´t look bad at all considering 165mph winds.

Will be crossing into Guatemala on Thursday 6 September and spending a few days in Antigua before heading into El Salvador, I think, although plans are flexible. Any use?
