Advise on where to stay for 3 to 4 months
 

Greetings. I am heading south soon down the US west coast, through Mexico into Central America. I'd like to take a brake somewhere in Central America for 3 to 4 months. This would be for mid to end of November, till February or mid March 2024.

It would be nice to rent a small place that has a kitchen, not too far from a beach, is relatively inexpensive, and somewhere where I could take Spanish lessons.

Cost is important. Safety important, and not in a large city preferred.

But what country is in question.

If anybody has opinions, leads on places, or comments please get back to me.

If it were me, I would research Costa Rica or Guatemala. The other countries have some safety issues. The only downside to Costa Rica is in my opinion I found the food somewhat bland. I prefer Mexican cuisine. I'm not a beach guy, so my experience has been mostly in the central highland areas of these countries.
