Women's summer riding gear

I'm having enormous difficulty finding lightweight clothing for a trip to Morocco this summer. It's trousers that are the real problem. I really like the Hein Gericke Tuareg stuff, but their unisex "small" trousers are way too big. I'm size 8-10-ish and my legs are SHORT! I seem to have tried every motorcycle shop in London & the Home Counties.... Any girls out there got any advice?

Hi there

I've also spent a lot of time looking for trousers, as I'm only a size 8 and not too tall either!

I eventually bought a pair of summer/ waterproof trousers in a shop which I think was called Harper's and in Leigh-on-Sea in Essex (01702 482016/7); they've also got a store in East London (0208 519 8666/1519). They had a lot of smaller sizes in a few different makes.

My trousers' lining is a bit sticky on a hot day but perhaps that company stock better stuff (mine were only £80). The company which made the trousers is RST- www.rst-moto.com.

Good luck and have a fab trip!

Hi ladies,
In case anyone looks at this post from ages ago - I went to GirlsBike2 in Dorking - Alison was v helpful (and we even got a mug of tea - tres civilised!) There was quite a choice and in midget sizes (I’m 5’2”), I think they’re getting some own brand stuff made in shorter leg length as even some of the women’s fit stuff was waaaay too long! I’ve gone for some draggin’ jeans and am doctoring them with proper armour (yup, getting busy with the sewing machine!) for hot summer climes.

I hope you had a fantastic trip.

it cost £50 to get leather jeans altered by BKS (or maybe it was hideout). That was adding stretch panels and some venting. The girl I was travelling with at the time never found anything to fit, and that was the best option to get good fitting trousers. The trousers were originally Hein Gericke.
