That X-Lite X-551 is a handsome devil to be sure, but a little costly for my pockets, and I personally do like a flip-up chin.

I just came across the Scorpion ADX-1 / AT-950 this morning (seems to be two different names for the same helmet, presumably for different markets?). If comfy & quiet, at €250 it looks to be a very interesting and versatile prospect... :w00t:

I certainly don't mean to hi-jack OP's thread, but perhaps this will be of interest to him and/or others reading the thread. :bier

My preference goes to a modular helmet with shade. Very practical. The LS2 shown here is dirt cheap.

Bought my first helmet with an internal visor this year. I absolutely love it. While it does not block as much sun as a dark full visor, as I used to put on on long sunny days, it offers enough to satisfy me most all the time. The convenience is terrific, especially when quick changing from sunny to shade and back. Mine is a Shoei Neotek modular.

Back in our motocross days, we used the "duck bill", now called a "peak" to deflect incoming dirt and rocks from the guy in front of you. Pretty useless on road.

Hopefully you have found the right helmet for you by now.
