Based on very satisfying personal experiences (no, not those), I will happily recommend Hein Gericke clothing, or IXS clothing.
My Goretex kit is IXS and it must be close to 6 years old. My HG suit is of the Tuareg range, but is a summer suit with lots of vents, mesh and panels that are a god-send in hot weather. Those are my garment of choice for travelling now (althought the IXS stuff was fine for Argentina, albeit boiling in the summer!!). I simply carry waterproof over garments. HG stuff is probably more reasonably priced, their stores are wide-spread and generally a helpful bunch. IXS I got from J&S accessories: equally nice bunch with gret deals from time to time (Assuming you're based in the UK) |
Right i have a lidel Motorcycling jacket with remover liner had it 4 years now cost £45.00 lasted just about to binn it after 4 + years never ever let any rain in only bin it cos the stiching came away and very worn. & got 2 last year 1 for me & 1 for partner.
My wet proof trousers are FT had to take lining out as got too warm but partners are lidle, (go with jacket), my answer is try what u want, not always the branded are the best! just get what you can with the depth of ur pocket |

I have never thrown away a jacket because the seams were going: if they were, I'd question how they'd fair in a crash.... My 2p |

Note that the Cayenne Pro and the sand both use Hydratex instead of Gore-Tex. I've heard good things about Hydratex but even Rev'It admits that the Gore-Tex is better (higher saturation point). Also, don't forget to order the back protector for whichever Rev'It you choose. |
There's a really good review of the BMW Rallye 3 stuff here.
